no literally i’m in a course called lesbian issues and realities this semester and i cannot differentiate my discussions here from there. there are so many brainiacs on here and i LOVE IT, but it stopped me from actually writing because it felt like i had to put the same amount of work into this as i do for my school assignments. it’s like that one part in stone butch blues where jess doesn’t want to read the non-fiction cause shes scared that she’ll feel stupid for not understanding it. let me have my school life-substack life balance 💔💔💔
REAAALLL last week I hooked up with my ex gf’s ex gf and I would write about the messiness and hilarity if I knew how but I don’t :/ please recommend me messy lesbians to follow!! I love you all!!
Also thank you for this critique on Lesbian Miranda vs Lesbian Samantha because I have not been able to articulate why it made me SO mad
The fact that you wrote this comment is enough for me to know that you absolutely DO know how to write about it and the messy lesbians/Lesbian Samanthas NEED to read it!
Highly recommend listening to Two Dykes and a Mic if you haven’t already (unlikely but possible!!). Perfect mix of serious and silly. I love watching lesbians giggle about Real Housewives or Bruno Mars.
Omg YES I LOVE! I’ve seen them live as well and it def serves the appetite. I really pretend I’m friends and having a full on convo with them in my head every time I listen to them. And 1000000% lesbians who giggle about Real Housewives TO THE FRONT.
this!!!! one of the hardest parts about coming out as a lesbian has been entering such a serious and intellectual space, especially coming from an environment where i was constantly surrounded by gay men. sometimes it’s made me feel like im “not good” at being a lesbian 😭 lets get silly with it please!!!
I have a whole article on Che Diaz's representation as the worst kind of wokescold queer you've ever met, and how I think we're entering a post-Che era where queer people are starting to reject that kind of sneering faux-intellectual person constantly talking down at them 🫡 https://analogleather.substack.com/p/che-diaz-and-exiting-the-vampire
Lesbians are very gravely serious and always have been. I think maybe we use our ability to deploy theory and use rhetoric as a yardstick for authenticity... Which is fucked up! I'm not a "better lesbian" than anyone else because I have a humanities degree. I'm a better lesbian because I have a sparkling sense of humour and a big juicy [REDACTED]
Do you follow O Caftan My Caftan or TV Dinner on Substack? Couple of my faves for fun gay writing. If there’s a way to tag on here clearly I don’t know how to do it, lmao
oh i am vibing so much with this article!! well first starting off that i am a bi woman and i got a lot of looks from lesbians in the past so my queer community is manly queer dudes and trans women. it frustrates me a lot that i cannot find lesbians spaces where i feel welcomed because i would love to (maybe its on me, i dont know, i take my responsabilities) - i love to vogue and to watch the twilight saga and i have felt JUDGED by lesbians for being so... unserious. i love unseriousness AS MUCH AS i love system-deconstruation-reconstruction anticapitalism community care discourses. CAN WE HAVE BOTH and BE FREE?
thank you so much for voicing something i didnt even realise i was missing the words for.
I’m so glad this was shared on my feed!! I’m off TT and Meta, and I get zero pop culture media now! And being bi, I want gay voices, specifically women voices. And lesbian spaces are often 1. Serious and 2. Devaluing to bi women. Perhaps a more fun appreciating lesbian space would also be more inclusive to bi women.
Thank you for this article and space for folks to drop their info. Just followed a bunch of people from the comment section.
Meeeee I love writing things like comparing the WNBA to Alice’s Chart from The L Word etc etc. Or documenting the messiest sapphic moments from MTV’s The Challenge. come hang out!
Do not you verily dareth to getteth me started on And Just Like That’s whole season of lesbian Miranda.
Oh, but I TRIPLE DOGGETH DARETH THEE

omg i love 2 Dykes! I do the same thing! the parasocial relationship i have with them should be concerning lmao
Thank you for validating my suspicion that Trader Joe’s is the lesbian cruising hotspot I have been overlooking.
Happy lesbian cruising!

Me!! Queer writing a research-informed pop culture newsletter! But yes, there should be more mainstream voices like this.
Following you right now.

I didn't realise it until you said it. Time to shit post as a lesbian again.
this just convinced me to get back to work on my unserious and deeply romantic essay in support of monogamy... thank you
LMFAO
Please the world needs this
I LOVE THIS!!! TAPPING MY FEET TOGETHER READING THIS AT MY DESK!!
